Why it matters

A QR code without tracking is a billboard with no foot traffic counter

You invest in print, packaging, or signage. You deserve to know if it is working. QR code tracking turns a one-way broadcast into measurable marketing data.

Without tracking

Flying blind

A static QR code has no way to report back. You print 5,000 flyers and never know if one person scanned — let alone which location, device, or time drove the most engagement.

With QRhubly tracking

Full picture, instantly

Every scan is logged the moment it happens. Your dashboard shows the total count, daily trend, top locations, and device split — so you know exactly what is working and where to invest next.

Scan analytics

Five dimensions of scan data, one dashboard

Every tracked QR code gets a dedicated analytics view from the moment of its first scan.

How it works

Tracking is on from the moment you create the code

Create a dynamic code

Sign up free and create a dynamic QR code. QRhubly gives it a short redirect link and an analytics dashboard — both ready instantly.

Place it anywhere

Download the QR image and put it on print, packaging, signage, or digital surfaces. The tracking layer is invisible to scanners.

Watch the data come in

Open your dashboard at any time to see real-time scan counts, location data, device breakdown, and time-of-day patterns.

Where tracking pays off

Any QR code that earns its place deserves a scan counter

  • Marketing campaigns — see which print channels drive the most scans
  • Restaurant menus — track which table scans most often and when
  • Product packaging — measure engagement across product lines
  • Event badges and flyers — know how many attendees actually scanned
  • Business cards — see who scanned after a meeting
  • Retail displays — compare scan volume between store locations

Privacy-first by design

QRhubly logs what you need for analytics — location, device, timestamp — without storing anything identifiable. IP addresses are hashed before saving and never kept raw. There is no fingerprinting, no cookie tracking, and no personal data shared with third parties.

What you get

  • Real-time scan count, updated on every scan
  • Daily trend: 7, 30, and 90-day views
  • Peak-times heatmap by hour and day
  • Top countries and cities breakdown
  • Device, OS, and browser split
  • One-click CSV export of the full scan log
  • Privacy-first: hashed IPs, no personal data stored

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you track a QR code scan?

Yes — but only with a dynamic QR code. A static QR code encodes the destination directly into the pattern and has no way to log scans. A dynamic QR code routes through a short link that QRhubly controls, so every scan is recorded with the time, country, city, device type, OS, and browser before the user is sent to your destination.

What data does QR code tracking show?

QRhubly logs total scans, a daily trend chart (7, 30, and 90-day views), a peak-times heatmap by hour and day of week, top countries and cities, and device, OS, and browser breakdowns. You can export the raw scan log to CSV at any time. IP addresses are hashed before storage — never kept raw.

Does QR code tracking slow down the scan?

No noticeable delay. The redirect hop takes under 50 ms on average. Scanners are forwarded to your destination so quickly that the tracking step is invisible to the end user.

How do I track a QR code I already printed?

If the printed code is dynamic (created with a QRhubly account), you can already see its scans in your dashboard. If the code is static — destination baked in — it cannot be tracked retrospectively. Going forward, create a new dynamic code and reprint or re-place it wherever the old one appeared.

Is QR code tracking free?

You can create one dynamic code and see its analytics for free as a trial (7 days or 50 scans per code, whichever comes first). Unlimited live codes with unlimited scan history are on Pro at $7/month or $59/year.

Can I track scans on multiple QR codes at once?

Yes. Every dynamic code in your QRhubly account has its own analytics dashboard. You can compare performance across codes and, on Pro, add team members so your whole marketing team can see the data.
