Are Google QR codes static or dynamic?
Google's QR codes are static. When Chrome creates a QR code for a page, it encodes that page's URL directly into the pattern — there's no redirect in between, no dashboard, and no way to change where the code points after you've shared or printed it. Google doesn't currently offer a dynamic QR service with editing or scan analytics.
That's perfectly fine for quick link sharing. But if you're printing the code on menus, packaging or flyers, consider whether the URL might ever change — a static code pointing to a dead page can only be fixed by reprinting. A dynamic code adds a small redirect you control, so the same printed code can be repointed any time and every scan is counted.
